The Head Start program has two parent groups (Parent Committee at Oakdale and Rio Linda and Policy Committee at Morey Avenue). The Policy Committee (PC) is the policy body shared with decision making responsibilities, and parents are required to approve various program operations. These parent representatives on the PC are from each age and/or program category. Representation is based on the PC Bylaws.
51% or more of the voting members must be Head Start preschool parents of children enrolled in the program. Numbers may vary based on program options.
